Mission, Vision & Impact

The Crisis

Every year in Tanzania, up to 15,000 adolescent girls are forcibly expelled from school for pregnancy. This educational apartheid locks young women into poverty and costs the economy over $5 billion in lost lifetime productivity.

Our Mission

To dismantle discriminatory education policies and provide holistic support—including childcare, economic training, and legal advocacy—ensuring a young woman’s future is measured by her ambition, not a pregnancy test.

Our Vision

A future where every young mother in Tanzania feels supported, empowered, and capable of building a healthy life for herself and her child, free from stigma and institutional isolation.

Our Approach

We are entirely peer-led and community-focused. Our model shifts power from external experts to lived-experience leadership, treating survivors not as “beneficiaries,” but as the architects of the solution.

COMMUNITY-LED GOVERNANCE

Shifting Power to Young Mothers

We believe that the community holds the expertise and the power. We don’t view young women as “beneficiaries”—they are resilient survivors and the true architects of our solutions.

Our strategy is governed by our Youth Advisory Council, a 7-member body of young mothers. They hold veto power over program design and must approve our annual budget, ensuring our work is always guided by lived experience.
