Our Work at Mzumbe Ward

In Mzumbe Ward, Young Mums Unite has established a vibrant peer-support network that brings together young mothers from diverse backgrounds. Since launching here, we have reached over 5,000 participants through:

  • Peer Circles: Weekly gatherings in the community hall where facilitators guide discussions on newborn care, breastfeeding techniques, and balancing motherhood with personal goals.
  • Targeted Workshops: Monthly sessions on reproductive health, basic financial planning, and stress management—designed to equip mothers with practical skills they can apply immediately.
  • Healthcare Linkages: Direct referral pathways to the Mzumbe Health Centre for antenatal and postnatal checkups, as well as family planning services, ensuring no mother misses essential care.
  • Digital Follow-Ups: SMS reminders for appointments and links to short educational videos, so information stays accessible even between meetings.

By combining local leadership, professional expertise, and youth-friendly resources, our Mzumbe Ward program fosters a community where no young mother faces early motherhood alone. Join us in supporting this growing network—together, we’re strengthening families and building brighter futures in Mzumbe.
